Connecting Swivel to Bonusly lets you automatically send Bonusly points as prizes the moment someone wins a spin — no copy-pasting, no manual awards. It layers Swivel's spinning excitement directly onto your existing Bonusly recognition program.

Setting up

Open Integrations in the Swivel app

From the Swivel app menu, click Integrations.

Find Bonusly and click Connect

Locate Bonusly in the integrations list and click Connect.

Enter your Bonusly API key

You'll be prompted for a Bonusly API key. You can generate one from your Bonusly account under Account Settings → API. Paste it into Swivel and click Save.

Once connected, Bonusly Points appears as an available prize type when creating new prizes.

Note

The Bonusly API key is tied to the admin account that generates it. Points will be sent from that admin's Bonusly allowance — make sure the connected account has enough balance to cover your expected prize volume.

Creating a Bonusly prize

  1. Go to Prizes in the Swivel app and click Create Prize
  2. Select Bonusly Points as the prize type
  3. Set the number of points to award and an optional reason message (e.g. "You won the spin! 🎉")
  4. Save the prize
  5. Attach the prize to a slice on any of your spinners

When a user lands on a Bonusly slice, the points are sent to them automatically via the Bonusly API at the moment of the win. The win is logged in Reward Management as Auto-fulfilled.

Tip

Create a range of Bonusly tiers on the same wheel — a small-points slice at high probability and a big-points slice at low probability. Winners feel the difference, and your allowance stays predictable.

Notes

  • Winner must have a Bonusly account that matches their Slack email. If no match is found, the delivery will fail and the win will be marked as Needs attention in Reward Management.
  • Points come from the connected admin's allowance. Bonusly resets allowances monthly — plan your prize point values accordingly.
  • All Bonusly wins are tracked in the Reward Management tab, so you have a full audit trail of every award made through Swivel.

Heads up

If the connected admin's Bonusly allowance runs out mid-month, automated point delivery will fail for new wins until the allowance resets. You'll see failed deliveries in Reward Management and can fulfill them manually.
