How to Use Swivel Points [Beta]

Swivel Points is designed for teams that already have an existing swag shop or rewards store, but want to add the energy and excitement of a spin to the experience. Users earn points through spins, then redeem them through your existing rewards infrastructure.
Instead of Swivel managing fulfillment end-to-end, points accumulate in Swivel and your team handles the actual rewards off-platform. Swivel tracks the balances and helps coordinate the redemption flow.
Enabling
- Open the Swivel app and go to Settings
- Click Personalization
- Toggle on Enable Swivel Points
Once enabled, Swivel Points becomes available as a prize type when creating prizes. You can set how many points a slice awards as a prize.
Redemption settings
After enabling Swivel Points, you'll choose how redemptions work:
Option A: Users can submit redemption requests
Users see a Redeem button on their Swivel home tab. They enter how many points they want to redeem and what they'd like in exchange, then submit. This creates an admin action item in Swivel. The admin fulfills the reward off-platform (through your rewards store, swag vendor, etc.) and then marks the redemption complete in Swivel.
Option B: Users cannot submit requests (admin manages)
The Redeem button is hidden from users. Admins monitor point balances and are notified when users hit certain thresholds. When you fulfill a reward off-platform, you manually deduct points from the user's balance in Swivel to keep it accurate.
Tip
Option A (user-initiated) reduces admin overhead and gives users more agency. Option B works well for teams with formal quarterly reward cycles where you batch fulfillment.
Tracking balances
Go to Reward Management > Manage Swivel Points to see:
- Current point balance for each user
- Full reward history — every earn and redemption
- Option to redeem points on behalf of a user
How users redeem
If redemption requests are enabled, users can redeem points directly from their Swivel home tab:
- User clicks Redeem on their Swivel home tab
- Enters the number of points they'd like to redeem
- Describes what reward they're requesting
- Submits — this creates an action item for admins in the Reward Management tab
Once you've fulfilled the reward off-platform, mark the redemption as complete in Swivel. The points will be deducted from the user's balance.
