Prizes are the rewards your team can win from a spin. Swivel supports several prize types — from custom rewards you fulfill manually to fully automated gift cards. This article walks you through creating a prize from the Prizes menu.

Steps

Open the Swivel app home tab

Launch the Swivel app and navigate to the home tab.

Click Prizes

From the menu, select Prizes to see your existing prize catalog.

Click Create Prize

Click the Create Prize button in the top right of the Prizes screen.

Choose a prize type

Select one of the available prize types and fill in the details. See the Prize types section below for a full breakdown.

Prize types

Custom Prize

Any reward fulfilled by your team. Examples: Lunch with the CEO, Extra PTO day, Team dinner, Work from home day. Swivel tracks the win and records who won — but fulfillment is done manually by your admin team. Use the Reward Management tab to track fulfillment status.

Swivel Points

Awards points to winners that accumulate in their Swivel balance. Users can request redemption through Swivel, and admins fulfill the reward off-platform through your existing rewards store. Requires Swivel Points to be enabled in Settings > Personalization.

HeyTaco Tacos

Automatically awards HeyTaco tacos to the winner on spin completion — no manual step required. Requires the HeyTaco integration to be connected in Swivel. See Connecting to HeyTaco! for setup instructions.

Bonusly Points

Automatically awards Bonusly points to the winner. Requires the Bonusly integration to be connected in Swivel. Once connected, points are sent automatically when a winner is selected.

Gift Card Link — Automated by Swivel Premium

The winner automatically receives an email with a gift card link via Tango Card. No manual fulfillment needed — everything is handled by Swivel. Available on Premium plans only.

Tip

For fully hands-off prize delivery, use Gift Card Link (Premium) or integration-based prizes like HeyTaco or Bonusly. For maximum flexibility with no integration requirements, go with Custom Prize.

Tips

  • Reuse prizes across spinners. The same prize can be attached to multiple slices across different spinners — you don't need to recreate it each time.
  • Track custom prizes. For custom prizes, check the Reward Management tab regularly to see which wins are awaiting fulfillment.
  • Creating inside spinner setup. You can create prizes on the fly from inside the spinner slice editor. After creating a new prize there, click Refresh Prizes to make it available in the dropdown.
